The Psychosynthesis Distance Education programme provides opportunity for on-going self development through a progressive series of self-paced assignments. The work is carried on by correspondence with the guidance of a tutor or mentor.
Anne Verity and Mary Fairbrother Ph.D., both qualified Psychosynthesis educators and therapists, developed the programme according to the principles and methods of Psychosynthesis. They were motivated by a desire to make available to the general public a system of Psychosynthesis training and education equal to that undergone by a person studying to become a psychosynthesis counsellor or therapist. Psychosynthesis was founded by Dr. Roberto Assagioli M.D. (1888-1974). From the beginning Assagioli recognised the need for a broad conception of human nature. He developed a variety of ideas that went well beyond orthodox psychoanalysis. It included the transpersonal and spiritual dimensions of consciousness. He called his system Psychosynthesis. The overall purpose of the psychosynthesis is, as Dr. Assagioli describes in his book "Psychosynthesis".
- To give the learner a thorough knowledge of their own personality
- Control of the various elements
- Realisation of one's true Self; - the discovery or creation of a unifying centre
- Psychosynthesis - the formation or reconstruction of the personality around the new centre.
Students doing the programme have applied their training with the following results:
- Discovery of a more fulfilling Life Purpose and career path.
- Knowing who you are and what you want to do with your life.
- Feelings of greater connectedness and joy
- A sense of heightened health and well being
- A sense of being in charge of your life.
